PRO10 Concludes the 2022 NLE Successful
Police Regional Office 10 concluded the conduct of the National and Local Elections 2022 as peaceful and successful despite some glitches recorded in some parts of the region.
Based from the Regional Election Monitoring Action Center 10 (REMAC 10), there were some election-related incidents over five months of election period, however the Police were proactive and prepared to handle the eventualities.
PRO10 recorded 16 incidents since the start of the election period and one of these incidents has been validated as ERI and one suspected ERI. Whereas, the 2016 to 2019 NLE recorded 18 validated ERI and five incidents involving Elected Government Officials (EGO).
A total of 85 Gun Ban incidents were also recorded with 100 arrested, 107 firearms confiscated, 44 deadly weapons, and various ammunition confiscated.
Further, there have been no reports of cases on vote buying and vote selling during the 2022 election period. Whereas, a total of 10 vote buying incidents had been recorded from last elections that consisted one incident in year 2016 and nine in 2019.
PRO 10 also prioritized its operation on major areas where proliferations of loose firearms were prevented. A total of 213 firearms and 672 ammunitions were surrendered and kept, and 42 major ISO operations were conducted as part of the security measures to ensure a safe, accurate, fair and free NLE 2022.
Following are some of the activities and accomplishments of this PRO during the election period: Activation of PRO10 RTG 2022 NLE which shall review and apply best practices observed in past elections and initiate revisions based on the findings and recommendations of the Red Team; Activation of Election Monitoring Centers to monitor all activities and significant accomplishments relative to 2022 NLE; Simultaneous Launching of KASIMBAYANAN; Walk for Peace, Interfaith Rally and Covenant Signing; Walkthrough Visit at Polling Centers, and others.
The conduct of contingency meetings, scenario makings and planning the courses of action remain one of the effective tools in ensuring that the 2022 NLE is secure and fair.
PBGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA JR, Regional Director, PRO10 congratulated all participating agencies, stakeholders, and the men and women of this PRO for securing the elections safe and peaceful.
“All in all, naging maganda ang takbo ng eleksyon dito sa Region 10 at masasabi talaga natin based sa mga reported incidents and accomplishments na very successful ang pagsagawa ng eleksyon.” RD ACORDA said.
“Malaki ang tulong na ibinahagi ng community by supporting our mandates, activities and programs especially nung Election Period. Sana ay mas maging matatag pa ang suporta nila sa ating mga kapulisan lalo na sa ating mga campaigns against all forms of criminalities.” He added.

PRO 10 Joins Simultaneous Multi-Agency Send Off Ceremony for 2022 NLE
PBGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA JR, Regional Director, PRO 10 joined the Simultaneous Multi-Agency Send-Off Ceremony of Security Forces for the 2022 National and Local Elections together with the different government agencies held at the New Grandstand, Camp Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City on May 4, 2022.
The activity was graced by the different head of agencies from the Commission on Elections, Department of Education, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao.
A total of 8,426 police personnel are to be deployed to the different polling stations across the region for the May 9 elections.
“This simultaneous send-off of the security forces involving different agencies is a clear manifestation of our commitment to unite and work collaboratively in order to prevent any untoward incidents and manipulations during the electoral process.” PBGEN ACORDA said.
“Eto na ang panahon at pagkakataon na ating patunayan sa sambayanang Pilipino ang pagkakaisa para sa matagumpay at mapayapang halalan.” He further added.
PRO10 is implementing the maximum deployment of its personnel to help neutralize election-related violence and ensure that police interventions are in place during the conduct of elections. ###

PRO10 Welcomes NAPOLCOM Commissioner
Police Regional Office 10 welcomed Edilberto Dela Cruz Leonardo, Commissioner, NAPOLCOM as he set his foot of this PRO for a command visit and as Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Monday Flag Raising and Awarding Ceremony at Camp 1Lt Vicente G Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City on May 2, 2022.
Commissioner Leonardo was accorded with arrival honors and was received by the host PCOL BENEDICTO T PINTOR, Deputy Regional Director for Operations of this PRO.
His visit aimed to remind the troops that the PNP and NAPOLCOM are brought together as one and that the NAPOLCOM exercises administrative control and operational supervision over the PNP.
“Ang overseer ng PNP ay ang NAPOLCOM, kaya kailangan nating isaayos talaga na mapanatili ang kanilang koordinasyon para magkaroon po kami ng effective na mga police services dito sa Region 10.” He said.
Further, Commissioner Leonardo also conveyed his guidance to all PNP personnel especially that the election day is near.
“The PNP being apolitical cannot be included in any political activities. Naniniwala ako sa PRO10 sa pangunguna ng Regional Director na kaya nilang gawing peaceful ang ating paparating na eleksyon.” He added.
On the other hand, after the activity at the Regional Headquarters, him being the former DENR Undersecretary, Commissioner NAPOLCOM scheduled a Tree Planting Activity and was attended by the Command Group, Regional Staff, Force Commander of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, Special Staff and CIDU 10 personnel at Camp Capistrano, Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City. ###
