Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) held a Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Summit to strengthen the fight against illegal drugs within the region today, May 10, 2024, at Camp Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.
The anti-illegal drugs summit served as an avenue to present drug-related issues as well as the interventions of concerned government agencies related to these problems.
The activity was presided over by PBGEN RICARDO G LAYUG, JR., Regional Director of PRO10. It was also attended physically by PCOL JOSELITO L. CLARITO, DRDO, Quad Staff; the Chiefs of the NOSUs; Atty. Merlyn Barola-Uy, Regional Prosecutor, DOJ 10; Atty. Benjamin Gaspi, RD, PDEA 10; Ms. Liza D. Ladres of DILG 10; Atty. Pastor Oran, of NBI 10; Mr. Jonas Cabasan of NICA 10; Faraida P. Mabud of DSWD 10; Atty. Charisma Eden Oyangoren of NTC 10; SPP1 Llwellyn Saavedra of PPA 10; Felipe Alano, Jr., Alien Control Officer, BI 10; DR. Tristan Jediah Labitad of DOH 10; CG ENS Cenesa Moreno, Acting Commander, CGIG-NM; Adriano Lamata of Bureau of Customs; Angelito Abato of CAAP 10; representatives from different government agencies; and City/Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs focal persons from Local Government Units.
During the summit, PRO10 discussed the Region 10 Drug Situation, briefing on Barangay Drug Clearing Program, and Lecture on the Prosecution of R.A. No. 9165 Cases. A signing of pledge of commitment against illegal drugs was also conducted during the activity.
PBGEN RICARDO G LAYUG JR, Regional Director, PRO10, emphasized the continuous effort of PRO10, along with other agencies, to address issues on illegal drugs in the region.
“I extend my gratitude to the participating agencies who cooperated and collaborated for the better development of the governments campaign against illegal drugs. This summit ensures the renewal of commitment from the different sector of the government in enforcing the laws against illegal drugs and efficient handling and prosecution of Person Deprived of Liberty who were sanctioned by the law. I urge our community to participate actively in the fight against illegal drugs towards our target in becoming safe and drug free community,” he said. ###
