The theme of this year’s celebration is “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” which emphasizes the hard-fought freedom of our forefathers for the country, encourages people to envision a progressive and inclusive nation, and underscores the importance of history.

To ensure peace and order during the celebration, PRO10 provides maximum deployment of personnel to places of convergence such as plazas and freedom parks, among others. This PRO will also exercise maximum tolerance as various groups may hold physical rallies or activities.

During the activity, PBGEN LAWRENCE B COOP, Regional Director, PRO10 delivered the message of PGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA JR, Chief PNP and said, “Itong pagdiriwang ng ika-isandaan at dalawampu’t limang (125) taong anibersaryo ng kalayaan ay isa ring pagkakataon upang lalong palakasin ang pagkakaisa bilang isang bansa - isang sambayanan. Magtulungan tayo sa pagpapaunlad ng ating bansa at angat ng bawat mamamayan. Lalo nating pa-igtingin ang pagpapalaganap ng serbisyong nagkakaisa, na siyang gabay natin sa paglilingkod at sa pakikipagtulungan para sa kaayusan, kapayapaan at kaunlaran.”

Meanwhile, RD COOP also expressed his gratitude and admiration for the dedication and sacrifices of our national heroes and those men in uniform who died during police operations.

“Sa ating paggunita ng Araw ng Kalayaan, nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon ang sakripisyo at pakikipaglaban ng ating mga bayani. Bilang isang mamamayang Pilipino, patuloy po tayong magtulungan at magkaisa upang lubos na makamit ang ating kalayaan mula sa iligal na droga, krimen, at insurhensiya,” he said. ###
