CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY. In response to the rising crimes and other public safety concerns here, composite team from Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) launched Friday morning a simultaneous city-wide hunt for most wanted criminals, drug personalities and common criminals.


The simultaneous police operation which focused on Cagayan de Oro central district area in Cogon resulted in the arrest of Jalal Ibra, a drug watch-listed HVT together with his cohorts Jawal Amil and Abotalib Mosa. Seized from them were P50,000 worth of methampethamine hydrochloride and other drug paraphernalias.

Dionisio Cleopas, another watch-listed wanted drug personality covered with a court-issued arrest warrant for drug-related crime in 2018 was also arrested.

The simultaneous police operation also rounded up 10 suspects for various minor offenses ranging from possession of bladed weapons to indecent exposure or half-naked in public.

A number of minors violating curfew and other city ordinaces were also rescued and turned-over either to their parents and the City Social Welfare Development for appropriate intervention.

Meanwhile, wanted Ploutus Coin invesment scam main man Mark Freeman's associate who is also covered with arrest warrant for Syndicated Estafa was also arrested in Macabalan. The arrested Freeman's associate was identified as Kent Troy Sly Ortega Lagang who is presently under police custody.

"It is a tested and proven formula; sustained law enforcement and responsive local government programs are effective interventions against crimes and other public safety concerns," NorMin police regional director Police Brigadier General Rafael Santiago Jr. Said.

General Santiago commended his men for the successful police operation and urged them to continue to work harder.

"Congratulations and keep up the good work," Santigao said. "I urge you to continue to work harder until we have rid the streets of Northern Mindanao of crimes and illegal drugs," he added.
