Fiilipino-Chinese National Arrested for Illegal Possession o Ammunitions and Paraphernalia by PRO 10 COCPO

On August 10, 2017 at about 7:00 PM, personnel of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office led by PCI ARIEL I PONTILLAS, Chief CIU executed the Search Warrant No. 2017-033 for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) duly issued and signed by Executive Judge Dennis Alcantar, Regional Trial Court Branch 18, 10th Judicial Region, Cagayan de Oro City at the warehouse owned by JAY TAN, a Filipino-Chinese National at V. Castro St., Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.  The said search warrant was based on information and intelligence monitoring conducted by the intelligence personnel. 

Recovered from the suspect’s warehouse were the following ammunition and paraphernalia:

a. 13 ammunition of 7.62 mm

b. 23 ammunition of 5.56 mm

c. 15 ammunition of .50 cal

d. five short magazines (MI6)

e. one long magazine (M16)

f. two sacks of empty shells (cal. 50)

g. 129 empty shells of (40mm)    

The said operation was witnessed by Kagawad Sonny Rey Cahayag and Kagawad Dexter Loring both from Brgy Carmen and representative from the Media. The suspect and the ammunition were brought to City Intelligence Unit, COCPO for proper disposition and case filing. 

PCSUPT TIMOTEO GASCON PACLEB, Regional Director of PRO 10, commended the operating personnel for the successful police operation. He directed all Police Provincial Offices to continuously conduct an efficient campaign and advocacy by implementing a wide-ranging pro-active strategy on the campaign against all forms of criminality including the seizure of loose firearms and ammunition in coordination with other law enforcement agencies and the support of the community.
